“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
Thank you for being trustworthy. You protect me, even from me. You place your hand in mine when I lose my way because of distractions and busyness, lovingly calling me forth. Thank you.
Lord, when I am tired, weary, and need rest, draw me close to you. Please pull me into your arms and remind me that you are all I need. When I am overwhelmed with responsibilities, please remind me to give more of myself to you than to anything else. Please teach me to worship you with every choice, word, and thought. Please help me to put you first, and then, Lord, draw me into your rest.
Then, as I place you before all things, let me be an example of putting you first so the world can see your light through me. May your light shine through me brightly.
In Jesus’ name,
