We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being a God who loves me through my weaknesses. You have been there for me through every shortcoming and never let me fall. You use my failings to demonstrate your love and your glory. There are not enough words to express your holiness.
Lord, there have been times when I didn’t love myself, so I doubted your love. Sometimes I have doubted your love because of my circumstance, and sometimes I have blamed you because of my situation. Forgive me.
Please help me remember that no matter my trial, I am loved, and you are in control. Please comfort me as only you can when I am overcome with grief, pain, or fear, and teach me how to comfort others. No matter my struggle, your Son has already overcome the world. Therefore, through Him, I have overcome. Thank you, Lord. Please remind me in times of distress that I am an overcomer.
When I am pressed remind me that I am not crushed. When I am perplexed, please keep me from despair. Please remind me that you will never leave me when I am persecuted. When I am struck down, please lift me up.
Father, please use every struggle and heartache to bring hope to the hurting.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
