And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9-11)
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your example of gracious, unconditional, and merciful love. You sent your Son to die for my sins, providing a way for me to be in right standing with you before I understood what love was. You provide for my needs and provide a way out of temptation to keep me from falling into sin. Your provision is eternal. I praise you, Lord.
Lord, please teach me to love like you and help me to talk, speak and walk like your Son. Please give me discernment to know your will and the strength of character to abide by it. Forgive me for the times when I have known your will and chose to do differently. Please place an obedient heart and a love for your Holy Scriptures within me. I want to know you intimately, Lord. Please show me how to walk in holiness and give me a greater desire for you.
May my heart, thoughts, and will align with yours in all aspects of my life, and may my life produce the fruit of our relationship.
