Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-4)
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your faithful love. Thank you for trusting me with trials of many kinds. Thank you for being my strength when mine wasn’t enough. I praise you because your power is made perfect in my weakness. Lord, place in me a humble, yielded and obedient heart, so I will lean into you during the trying times. Please help me remember that you are faithful and have a perfect plan for my life. Teach me how to trust in your love and trust you even when I don’t know the plan. Pour patience into me to persevere in the face of struggle, pain, discouragement, or grief. Grow my faith. Finally, Lord, please grow me until I am spiritually mature, so I can faithfully walk out my calling to love others and do the work you have equipped me to do.
