“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. (Luke 6:27-28)
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your wisdom, patience, and tender kindness. Thank you for modeling mercy toward me and teaching me how to love.
Lord, your Word teaches us that we will face persecution and trouble. But sometimes, I struggle with loving others who attack me. Although I know I could never suffer more than Christ, it hurts to be treated unfairly. Please help me to offer grace to those who mistreat me. Teach me to forgive those who act against me.
Remind me when I become oppositional or agitated that you love me regardless. Then Lord, pour your peace and gentleness into my heart so that I will glorify you through my responses. Give me a greater and greater love for my enemies and be glorified through my life.
May your love through me draw people to you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
